"Very good start" for SRC Kawasaki EWC team

The first EWC 24H Le Mans testing session in 2018 for the SRC Kawasaki EWC team finished with gloomy weather… but produced splendid pictures into the bargain.

The majority of 60 teams who are competing at the upcoming 2018 24H of Le Mans planned two days of testing on 3 and 4 April.

In anticipation of the most famous endurance race in the world - which will run across the 21 and 22 April – the two long days of pre-testing have been used to finish the 6th KAWASAKI SRC #11 team’s winter training program and remind them of their podium potential.

Ridden by former Kawasaki MotoGP rider, Randy de PUNIET, plus Jérémy GUARNONI, Mathieu GINES and Morgan BERCHET, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR has been very impressive during the whole qualifying session which provides pragmatic encouragement.

Gilles STAFLER :

“Weather conditions did not allow us to work as we wanted but we were able to try the new wet PIRELLI tyres. One of them has given us a favorable opinion. It’s encouraging about the race, because there is a high probability to find these conditions during the event. About the slicks tires this time, we have done our job during the March PIRELLI tests in Spain where we rode 2700 kilometers. The team returned to the workshop to check the bikes and parts and come back to Le Mans in two days”.

Jérémy GUARNONI :

“It was very difficult to perform under these difficult conditions. However, I took good pleasure riding the bike. For me it’s a double great satisfaction to ride again the famous #11.Firstly because I know reasonably well the Kawasaki staff and particularly the Ninja ZX-10RR (for several years) but also I get along very well with my teammates!

I really feel good in this team, which is helping me and contributes to elevating our performance level! During the Pirelli testing last month I felt good sensations on the bike at the time of my first training day on slicks. It allowed me to approach in good conditions the new season. Anyway, I am so happy for this new start in endurance!”

Note: This testing session has been an opportunity for the Team SRC to try some Kawasaki clothes of the Camo and Vintage range, in the company of the awesome Kawasaki Z900RS CAFE, whose colours fit perfectly the Kawasaki racing world.
