Alcoba Moves Forward At Pace In Race Two

Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) secured an eighth place race finish in the second 20-lap WorldSSP Race at his Kawasaki WorldSSP team’s home round of Cremona, on Sunday 4 May.

After what is almost a customary bad start for Jeremy, he spent the first five laps in 17th place, before moving forward on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 with great effect. He finished a strong eighth to score eight more championship points.

The effective work put in by Jeremy and his technical staff provided him with a good machine set-up - not only for sheer pace but to make the most of his tyres for all 20 laps.

This weekend was Jeremy’s first visit to the 3.768km-long Cremona Circuit, which is largely designed as a stadium-style venue, with many tight corners and frequent changes of direction.

After his debut Cremona experience, Jeremy is seventh overall in the championship rankings, with 60 points. He also continued his enviable record of not just finishing but scoring points in every race he has competed in since he joined this rejuvenated category of production-derived racing, inside the Kawasaki WorldSSP team, in the off-season.

The next round of the championship will take place in Czechia, at the Autodrom Most, between 16-18 May.

Jeremy Alcoba stated: “Cremona is done and the second race was really good. There is always a bad start for us, so that is a point we need to improve. It is my big mistake. But I am happy because yesterday the team did a really good job to be ready for today. The feeling was much better and the pace was really good. I feel more comfortable and I was really smooth through all the race. On Saturday we struggled a lot in the last part of the race with the rear tyre. Today I tried to manage that. I am happy because on the first lap I was 17th and I came back to finish P8. The pace was really good and maybe we could fight to be top six today. The pace is there, so we need to improve in some points. But I am really happy and feeling comfortable, so thanks to the team and see you at the next one.”
