21 January 2013 Team Green moves up a gear in Belfast

Having consolidated the new Team Green approach at the opening round of the UK Arenacross series, every rider moved up a gear at round two held in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena.
Just a week after the 02 Arena kick-off in London, the experience of riding indoors in front of a packed audience boosted the Kawasaki riders confidence with the pilot of a green machine on every single podium throughout the course of an action packed night - including a win for Ifly Lanes Kawasaki rider, James Harrison in the highly competitive rookie class.

Repeating his debut top step performance in the small wheel 85cc class, Dylan Woodcock also stormed to another confident win and a points lead going into the third round of four. Backing this up, local hero Gordon Crockard put the disappointment of London behind him with a heat race win and was on hand to witness fellow LPE by Maxxis rider, Jack Brunel, reach the runner up spot in the night’s main Pro event.

With an agenda to cover all youth classes as part of the new Team Green push for 2013, the news that Billy King and Preston Williams had also podiumed in the 85 big wheel and 65 classes respectively meant that there was a Kawasaki rider taking part in every single podium celebration across the evening.

Team Manager, Jeff Perrett was understandably proud of the combined efforts and is now focused on the third round in Birmingham.

“This is great news”, said Jeff. “We had a steady start as the guys got used to the team structure and the thrill of being a Team Green rider sponsored by Monster Energy. Now they have this added boost of success to take to Birmingham, I couldn’t be happier”.

For Kawasaki Motors UK, Racing Coordinator, Ross Burrridge emphasised the need to keep making progress saying;

“We have gone big for 2013 in recruiting teams and riders onto the green machines and so far its definitely paying off. To have a Kawasaki representation on every podium throughout the evening, including two wins, is amazing.

Moving forward we need to achieve that elusive win in the Pro main event which would be the icing on the cake. Now with a weekend’s respite for the riders, they can re-group and come out all guns blazing at the LG Arena”.
