7 November 2012 Seeley joins Wilson at Gearlink Kawasaki for 2013

With a formidable reputation in both UK Supersport and Superbike racing, Northern Irish rider, Alastair Seeley, will join Gearlink Kawasaki for the 2013 season alongside established rider, Ben Wilson.
Hailing from Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, 33 year old Seeley is well known to Kawasaki fans for pushing Wilson to the very last race in 2011 with the pair finishing just one point apart at the head of the Championship table.

Following a season riding a Superbike, Seeley returns to the Supersport paddock on a Ninja ZX-6R, the first time he has ridden competitively on one of the lime green machines. With the hard charging Wilson keen to secure his first Championship, and Seeley keen to regain the sort of form that saw him win Superbike and Supersport races on the roads circuits, the Kawasaki Motors UK supported team is now in the lucky position of having two possible race and Championship winners running alongside each other.

Having already ridden a Gearlink Kawasaki machine at Mallory Park in a “shakedown” test, Seeley has voiced his optimism in terms of team structure, machinery and background support. Additionally, the talented Northern Irish rider will compete in his homeland at the North West 200 on ZX-6R and ZX-10R machinery prepared by highly respected Kawasaki tuner, Nick Morgan, and his MSS technical staff.

For team owner, Michael De Bidaph, the chance to capture that first elusive British Supersport Championship is a tempting thought:

“To now have Alastair on board in addition to Ben is a dream come true! We really want to make a mark on the 2013 season, and finally attain the Championship win we have been striving for. With these two riders on board we have given ourselves the best possible chance of doing so”.

Equally, Ross Burridge, the Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, says the company is buoyed by the announcement of the 2013 team line-up.

“Ben has done an amazing job for Gearlink and Kawasaki over the past few years, and everyone can attest to his drive to win a Championship. Now with Seeley as his team mate, I really feel that they can again push each other to the top of the field on Ninja machinery.”
