2 April 2013 New Kawasaki Z800 design microsite launched

Responding to huge public and media interest in the recently launched Z800 and Z800 e version, Kawasaki has unveiled a dedicated internet Microsite designed to explain the technical features of these new machines as well as exploring the fascinating design concept behind them.
As successors to Kawasaki's sales chart topping Z750 and Z750R, the new-for-2013 machines have been the focus of much attention at Kawasaki's in-house design studio at the Kawasaki factory in Japan. Making the earliest secret design sketches and engineering directions available to the public for the very first time, the new Microsite also delivers key facts and information relating to the new Z800.

For Kawasaki Motors Europe, the Z family - and Z800 in particular - are important in terms of sales and brand perception as Marketing Manager for KME, David Monbertrand, explains.

"It’s gratifying that Kawasaki customers take such an interest in the brand, its heritage and engineering credentials plus its vision for the future. We know that there is an enormous hunger for what this so-called “behind the scenes” detail which adds to the mystique and appeal of Kawasaki. These sketches show that our designers gather inspiration from diverse sources such as visiting and meeting with European customers.
.
From the sketches that we now make public it is obvious that a combination of Kawasaki Z heritage and the strong vision for the future has influenced the design of the Z800. It is our desire that Kawasaki fans explore the new microsite, and in so doing, gain a valuable insight into the creative process that has resulted in this formidable machine."

Covering aspects of the development process as well as technical information and gallery items, the Microsite has been created to be informative as well as entertaining answering many of the questions that prospective owners would wish to know before taking a test ride at a Kawasaki dealer.

Commenting, Shigemi Tanaka, Director of KME’s Corporate Planning and Operations hopes that the Microsite would feed the enormous hunger that Kawasaki fans have for new model information.

"It's a fact that the initial research into a new machine is internet based. Of course visiting a dealer and having a test ride is the ultimate way to experience a new machine. We feel that this new microsite will play an important part in delivering the type of information and entertainment that many current or potential Kawasaki owners desire”.
