28 January 2014 Kawasaki Racing Team ready for 2014 Launch

The championship-winning Kawasaki Racing Team will shortly unveil its 2014 image and
ambitions on Thursday 30th January, with the rider line up and official SBK spec Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R on display.
Having won the championship with Tom Sykes in 2013 media attention is expected to be strong and wide-ranging, especially with the most exciting young talent in SBK, Loris Baz, back in the team for a second full year.

Building on its previous successful launch event in 2013, the team will unveil its plans and partnership programmes in full to invited media and guests at the 2014 launch, which will take place near their workshops and headquarters in Barcelona.

With the Superbike World Championship evolving in its technical rules both for this season and next the adoption of an EVO SBK element to the official KRT effort is an important initiative. Chosen rider for the Evo SBK project, David Salom, will join SBK riders Sykes and Baz at the launch to be held in the Pabello Mies Van Der Rohe in Barcelona, at 7.30pm on Thursday 30th January.

Biel Roda, KRT Marketing Manager: “On January 30th we will Introduce the 2014 Kawasaki Racing Team project, with less than one month to the start of the season at Phillip Island in Australia. On Thursday we will unveil our 2014 championship-challenge and we started working on this project the day after becoming World Champions with Tom Sykes. Our riders have already done many kilometres in testing and our mechanics, engineers and managers, both in Europe and Japan, have been working very hard to create a good package to start at a strong pace in the 2014 season. Since we will be the title defenders

Tom, Loris and the whole Kawasaki Racing Team Staff will have many expectations to meet. In this team launch we will also have the opportunity to explain to the Kawasaki Racing Team sponsors, journalists, fans and friends the thinking behind the KRT EVO project. David Salom and his new crew will have the responsibility to develop the Ninja ZX-10R in this new category."

Steve Guttridge, Kawasaki Race Planning Manager: “It seems only yesterday that we were in Jerez celebrating the 2013 Superbike World Championship title with KRT and Tom Sykes. The team and factory have not stopped working since then in all areas to ensure that we will race out at the front again this season. Of course, the champion’s bike has to look good too, so we will take this opportunity to reveal the team’s all-new KRT factory Ninja ZX-10R design to the press and media. It will be a fantastic occasion!"
