5 MINUTES WITH ARIE VOS

After starting his career with Kawasaki, Dutch racer Arie Vos went on to win multiple Dutch Supersport and Superbike titles. Retiring from racing in 2014 (having won the Dutch Superbike Championship on a Kawasaki) he now runs his own team…
“I’ve had a great career in motorcycle racing, and that first year with Kawasaki was arguably one of my most important. After racing in the Dutch 125cc Championship and then the 250cc Championship, I had used all of my money but then was offered the ride with Pajic Kawasaki Racing Team, which meant I could continue racing. It was a fantastic team and bike. We were competitive from the very beginning, fighting for podiums.

Like most riders, I moved around classes and machines throughout my career but last year, my final season racing, saw me back with Kawasaki after a ten year absence. It was a phenomenal year and we had lots of success. My highlight was definitely the race in Zolder however, after crashing at Oschersleben and breaking my leg, I had an operation and although I was struggling to walk we took victory just two and half weeks later!

Although my racing career is now over, I’m still very much involved as I now run my own team. We use Kawasaki bikes as I know just how competitive the machines are! The guys in the team are fantastic and we all have the same passion for racing and helping young talented riders chase their dreams. People ask me if I get the same enjoyment being Team Manager as I did racing, and although the feeling is very different I really enjoy it.

Looking towards the future, I hope to continue running the team and helping riders to achieve many victories and Championship titles!”
