Team Green covers both the on-road and off-road racing efforts at all Championship levels. Originally launched back in the 1980s by Alec Wright – Racing Manager at Kawasaki Motors UK Ltd – Team Green represented the pinnacle of racing and was the name on everyone’s lips, something riders wanted to be a part of.
New for the 2017 season, the Team Green Associated Riders programme will provide direct support from Kawasaki Motors UK to help develop the rider’s racing careers and hopefully provide them with a number of opportunities throughout the season.
This year, the Team Green Associated Rider line-up will be formed by 2015 National Superstock 600 Champion Mason Law, 2016 National Superstock 600 Champion Jordan Weaving, road racing legend Dean Harrison and fans-favourite James Rispoli.
Rispoli will be competing for the FS-3 Racing Quattro Plant Kawasaki team in the Superstock 1000 class at BSB, and Dean Harrison will contest the International Road Races with his Silicone Engineering Kawasaki team.
Team and class information is yet to be announced for Law and Weaving but is expected to be released soon.
Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge, said: "The Team Green programme has gone from strength to strength in the past couple of years, and after it's re-launch into the world of tarmac racing in 2016, we decided that the next step was to not only back our Official Team Green teams, but target individual riders who we feel are the stars of the future. I’m excited to see how these riders develop in 2017 and beyond."
Mason Law commented: "I’m very happy to continue into 2017 with Kawasaki and their Team Green project, having been a part of it since 2011 and gradually working my way through the ranks from Motocross to competing at the highest level within the British Superbike championship. It's great to see that a manufacturer is encouraging young talent!"
Jordan Weaving continued: “I’ve had an amazing time with Kawasaki and Team Green in my BSB career so far. To win the Junior Superstock Championship with them was awesome and I can’t wait to continue into 2017 with my new project, backed once again by Team Green.”
James Rispoli added: "I am stoked to be a part of Team Green. The new features on the ZX-10 RR are incredible, and I can't wait to start testing very soon. The Superstock 1000 class is stacked with talent this year, so the racing is going to be close!"
Dean Harrison stated: "I have had a lot of success with Kawasaki machinery and I want this to continue. I am itching to get on the new bike, as I know how good the old model is and the ZX-10RR can only be even better."
