There’s trouble in the valleys, and at its core is normally mild mannered Welsh motocross wizard Connor Walkley.

Known throughout the paddock for his courteous demeanor and professional approach to racing, the 16 year old Caerphilly resident has taken an unusual step and offered his race machine for stripping and inspection by an independent engineer.

Why the apparent uproar? Well it seems as if the dramatic progress of the Welsh wonder towards Championship success is being accompanied by murmurings of “special parts” and “factory engines” – especially since receiving the enthusiastic support of LPE Maxxis Henderson Kawasaki at recent selected events.

“OK, in reality it’s not a real big issue to be honest”, admitted a relaxed and confident Walkley, “But if anyone wants to see just how standard my bike is, they only have to ask. The boys in the paddock who don’t ride KX250F’s just can’t believe the results you can get on a standard bike. Mine is virtually as it came out of the box save for the exhaust and stuff like bars and levers”.

Kawasaki’s Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge, understands Walkley’s apparent frustration, and also the underlying humour of the tongue-in-cheek “protest” from the talented Team Green rider.

“There’s nothing quite like the competitive banter of the MX paddock and Connor has been the focus of attention lately as his stature and success has blossomed. As a spoiling strategy I personally think this will back-fire big time as Connor redoubles his efforts to increase his tally of KX250F podiums.”
