5 MINUTES WITH JJ LUISETTI

Jean Jacques Luisetti is a busy man. Yet as owner of both the successful Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team and one of the biggest bike dealerships in France, ‘JJ’ seems remarkably relaxed!
I divide my time between the race team and Floride Motos, our family bike dealership in Marseille. I have run a shop since 18, first on my own, then with my family; my son, sister and brother. It helps me to share my time between retail and racing- but the two activities are complementary so it brings good synergy.

Now we have been the biggest Kawasaki Dealer in Europe for the last 12 years, the shop has got very big! Clearly with Kawasaki having more and more models it is really good for the future years of the brand and for our shop!

I raced myself for many years and was always passionate about Motocross so I started using the shop to help my racing and vice versa. Of course as the business got bigger I had to stop racing and concentrate on that…

Our riders this year have been two French racers Jordi Tixier, Dylan Ferrandis and Thomas Covington from the States. In the last few races Bulgarian racer Petar Petrov has stood in for Dylan who is injured.

Our most amazing experience in racing happened in 2012, when we won both classes (MXGP and MX2) at the same time in Brazil and then also in the UK round when Tommy Searle completed a fantastic double win.

One thing that is crucial in both running the shop and the race team is that all our staff understand hard work and integrity. But I think those skills are similar for all jobs...

Finally we asked, “How do you spend any time off that you have?” JJ replied- Easy, I have none!
